Hi there! I’m Nicole, but some call me Nikki. I’m a twenty-something who has never been content staying in one place for too long. I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, spent my college years in the Biggest Little City of Reno, Nevada, moved to the desert in Scottsdale, Arizona, and recently moved to the mile-high city of Denver, Colorado. I spend my working days training faculty at the University of Colorado to fund my travels and use days off for my adventures.
I started this blog for a few reasons. First off, I have a terrible memory, and writing helps me remember and re-live my travel experiences. Second, I want to share how much travel has made an impact on my life. When I was about to graduate college, I found myself really unhappy and couldn’t pinpoint why. From the outside looking in, I had everything you need to be “happy,” but I realized I spent so much time trying to please everyone around me that I lost sight of who I was, forgot what I was passionate about, and what made me the happiest.
My life needed a change, so I uprooted everything and started over, 700 something miles later. I began to live by a simple motto, “live a story you’re proud to tell.” I strived to create a life that was full of experiences, never stay complacent, and invest time in my passions. Travel has made me appreciate my blessings, changed my perspectives, and, most importantly, helped me find myself again. I hope by sharing my adventures, to inspire others to experience all travel has to give.
